An Acoustic Power Trio:
The birth of the Trio happened a couple of years ago when Aurélien and Jean-Baptiste first met in the North of France. They decided to create a Gipsy trio called Uprise and started touring with a rhythm player, playing Gypsy Standards.
After two years of touring in Belgium and France, Aurélien and Jean-Baptiste wanted to start a new project with their own music. Uprise trio started playing compositions and arrangements written by Aurélien. But something was missing in the band. As a Rock band, they needed to find The Drummer on Acoustic Guitar and they naturally called the best one: Rémi Oswald. Ready to record after rehearsing only few days before, they went to Chadeleuf for their first album and stopped acting like a typical Gipsy trio: Kill BoB was born...
Mix of compositions and arrangements:
For this first album, Aurélien brought all of the musical elements, compositions, arrangements and ideas behind each interpretation. It couldn't have been possible without JB and Rémi, because these two professionals are the only ones who can truly play this music, a wild mix of a Django style trio and a Rock band, and tap into the energy of a rock band on acoustic instruments.
Now Kill Bob is already working on their second and nearly finished album. With Aurélien writing new compositions and ideas, they are working on metal, pop and rap influences while keeping the power trio energy and the original and inimitable sound of Kill BoB !
The Chadeleuf Session:
The Trio recorded the album in Chadeleuf, Auvergne, at Théophane Bertuit's studio, Arborescence.
The place was beautiful and they were there for 4 days recording. Because of Théophane's intelligence and hospitality, the atmosphere was completely relaxed and peaceful which was the perfect setting for any band to record in.
This was a good thing because some tunes were only composed by Aurélien just before the recording session and it was the first time they worked on these new songs.
The kindness and patience of Théophane were perfect to let the Trio work and express it's musicality completely.
